When choosing, consider your dog's life stage/age, any health conditions and whether they have intolerances or allergies to certain proteins. Because meats vary so much in digestibility and nutrient density, selecting the right one helps you match your dog’s needs—whether that’s supporting growth, managing weight, easing digestion, or avoiding triggers for sensitive stomachs.

One of the main advantages of our food is that many of our recipes feature a single source of protein. This is hugely beneficial, allowing owners to precisely manage their dog's diet. We also offer a variety of novel proteins* which is invaluable when managing diets for those with intolerances and sensitivities.

*A novel protein is a protein source your dog is less likely to have been exposed to and therefore less likely to trigger a reaction. Examples of novel proteins include venison, duck, rabbit and fish. Novel proteins can be used in managing diets for dogs with sensitivities to more commonly used proteins, such as, chicken, beef and lamb.

For those dogs without sensitivities, providing a variety of different meat sources can help prevent the development of food intolerances and offers a varied diet.

Chicken

Chicken is a lean easily digestible protein source rich in essential amino acids. It is also a good source of vitamins & minerals including B vitamins and iron which help contribute to overall health and well-being.

Beef

A highly digestible protein source. Our recipe is mineral-rich in iron, phosphorous selenium and zinc - all essential for the health and well-being of your dog. Our beef is sourced from the Angus breed of cattle which are native to the North-East of Scotland. Angus beef is considered a higher quality meat compared to regular beef.

Turkey

Turkey is a lean, easily digestible protein source rich in essential amino acids. It is also low in fat and a good source of essential nutrients such as riboflavin, potassium and selenium. Turkey can be a great alternative protein for dogs with chicken sensitivities.

Fish (Tuna, Salmon, Haddock, Trout & White fish)

A great source of highly digestible, quality protein. High in available essential amino acids. A great source of Omega 3 fatty acids essential for helping support the immune system, ensuring good skin and coat health. Seen as a novel protein, fish can be a great choice for dogs with sensitivities to other proteins.

Pork

Pork is a good source of protein which also provides vitamins important for general health and well-being, including thiamin, niacin, riboflavin and vitamin B6. It is also rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Lamb

A nutrient-dense, highly digestible protein source. Rich in zinc, which is great for maintaining coat condition and supporting the immune system. It is also an excellent source of vitamin B12, niacin and iron which are required to help keep nerve and blood cells healthy. Lamb is naturally higher in fat, making it a good choice for active and working dogs or those needing to gain weight.

Venison

Venison is protein-rich and nutritionally wholesome. It is a good source of iron and B vitamins including B6 and B12. It helps dogs maintain healthy energy levels and is highly palatable. A novel protein source for dogs, which may benefit those with allergies and intolerances to alternative proteins.

Rabbit

Rabbit is considered a novel and lean protein source for dogs. An excellent option for those with intolerances to common proteins. It is an excellent source of essential vitamins and minerals such as B12, zinc, phosphorus and iron which play an important role in maintaining health.

Duck

Duck is a lean source of protein which provides nutrients such as iron, selenium, B vitamins, zinc and omega 3, contributing to general health and well-being.
